How to emulate on Your iPad (Melon nx Working Tutorial)

FEATUREDIPAD

Hey gamers! If you've ever wanted to turn your iPhone or iPad into a portable console, you are in the right place. Today, we are diving into exactly how to get the MeloNX emulator running on your iOS device.
Getting this set up takes a few specific steps, but once you have it running, the payoff is incredible. Let's get started!
What is MeloNX?
MeloNX is an advanced Nintendo Switch emulator designed specifically for iOS. Built from the foundations of popular desktop emulators (like Yuzu and Ryujinx), MeloNX is optimized to take full advantage of Apple's powerful A-series and M-series chips. This means you can get highly playable framerates right in the palm of your hand. Best of all? You do not need to jailbreak your iPhone.
(Side note for the Mii fans: If you landed here looking for a way to play Tomodachi Life, remember that MeloNX is exclusively a Switch emulator! Since Tomodachi Life is a 3DS game, you will want to check out our other guides on 3DS emulators like Folium. But if you are ready for Switch gaming, keep reading!)
What You Will Need
Before we begin, make sure you have the following ready to go:
An iPhone or iPad (Newer models with higher-end chips will perform significantly better).
A sideloading app like AltStore, Scarlet, or SideStore.
The MeloNX .ipa file (found on their official website, melonx.org).
Your legally dumped console keys and game ROMs (Always remember to follow the rules and dump your own games!).
Step-by-Step Installation Guide
Step 1: Set Up Your Sideloading App
Because Apple restricts certain emulators on the App Store, we have to sideload MeloNX. We highly recommend using AltStore for the safest and most reliable experience.
Download AltServer on your PC or Mac.
Connect your iPhone via a USB cable and install AltStore onto your device.
Go to your iPhone's Settings > General > VPN & Device Management and "Trust" your developer profile to allow AltStore to run.
Step 2: Download the MeloNX File
Open Safari on your iPhone and navigate to the official MeloNX website or their GitHub repository. Download the latest release .ipa file directly into your iOS "Files" app.
Step 3: Install the Emulator
Open AltStore on your iPhone.
Navigate to the My Apps tab at the bottom.
Tap the + icon in the top left corner.
Select the MeloNX .ipa file you just downloaded.
Give it a minute to install. Once it's done, MeloNX will appear right on your home screen!
Step 4: Configure Your Keys
Launch the MeloNX app. Before the emulator can read any of your games, you have to import your Switch prod.keys and title.keys.
Navigate to the emulator's settings menu and find the "Keys" section.
Import the keys you dumped from your personal console.
Performance Pro-Tip: Emulation takes a lot of power and can heat up your phone. Head into the MeloNX settings and lower the internal resolution to 0.85x or 0.90x. Not all games support this, but for the ones that do, it will save your battery life and keep your device cool!
Step 5: Load Your Games and Play!
Finally, point the emulator to the folder where you store your .nsp or .xci game files. Tap on the game you want to play, wait a few seconds for the shaders to compile, and you are officially playing console games on your iPhone!
